The 2014 APEC meeting will be held at Yanqi Lake in Beijing’s Huairou district in November. In 2009, BAIC completed the acquisition of Sweden’s Saab Automobile. As a result, BAIC was able to complete the next important step of its internationalization strategy. In 2014, BAIC Group’s progress in terms of becoming a top, internationally recognized automotive brand was again highlighted when the company ranked 248 in the global “Fortune 500” list with revenues amounting to $ 43.32 billion.

The deputy party secretary Li Zhili from BAIC Group said that the APEC meeting was the best platform for BAIC to display its innovative products, strengthen international communications and to firmly establishing BAIC an internationally recognized brand. The focus on new-energy vehicles has become one of the core development strategies of BAIC Group.

In November 1991, the People’s Republic of China alongside, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong formally joined APEC.
