On September 13, 2017, BAIC Group brought its Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts Co., Ltd. (BHAP) to attend the 67th Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), showcasing its self-developed intelligent, electric and lightweight auto parts. This is a significant demonstration of BAIC’s industrial chain comprehensive capability and future technology in a major international stage.

Ranked 137th in Fortune Global 500, the Chinese automobile key enterprise has established an integral industrial system of ten business sectors, namely self-owned brands, joint venture and cooperation, electric vehicles, automotive parts, trade, industrial finance, internationalization, general aviation, travel services, as well as reform and adjustment. Among them, auto parts is a strategic sector for BAIC to develop its service capability of full industry chain and transform itself into a manufacturing service and innovative enterprise.

Established in 2008 by BAIC, BHAP has gained rapid expansion in scale and market influence during the past ten years. In 2016, its sales volume reached RMB 48.8 billion, ranked 68th in Top 100 Global Auto Parts by Automotive News.

Sunroof, piston assembly, intelligent vehicle-mounted system, engine cylinder block and head, magnesium alloy hub… In this exhibition, BHAP focused on lightweight technology to showcase replacing steel by plastics, aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy parts, as well as the solution that using lightweight and high strength new materials to replace steel to reduce weight and consumption.

On the spot, research personnel highlighted BHAP’s advanced driving assistance system and electric mobile gearbox, introduced electric vehicle parts such as electric air conditioning, electric power steering, electrodynamic braking, and many other components and parts. It attracted a large number of OEM and automobile accessory enterprise to exchange actively.  

The exhibits are just part of BHAP’s "Product Library". Owning a product system of interior and exterior trimming, electronics, chassis, power and car body, BHAP provides parts supporting service for more than 40 clients such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Volvo. Besides, BHAP owns strong influence in many subdivisions such as sunroof and piston. Currently, its market shares of sunroof ranks the second in the world, and its research and market comprehensive strength of piston products ranks the fourth in the world.

On September 13, BHAP signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with its international partner HELLA Group, a memorandum of cooperation with Magna Closures, as well as a memorandum of understanding with ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The completion of a series of international cooperation has injected a new impetus into the overseas expansion and international upgrade of BAIC's component system.
